If I used the computer while rendering, the outcome would be a useless video e. I upgraded my PSU in the computer and got a reasonable graphics card nvidea gts 1gb which has CUDA cores which Powerdirector is able to utilise.

After the upgrade I would say it runs 4 times faster when rendering! I have the 32bit version. I’ve found a few niggles.

It was really hard to find the video speed feature faster or slower. It was even harder to find the “rotate” option it is in the crop section. I found the features by searching the online forum which is pretty useful. There are just so many features, it’s no wonder it’s hard to find stuff. A very good piece of software. I liked Corel, but Sony didn’t handle my video format. Corel was much dearer. To be sure, I’d recommend you all try the trial versions first and see what suits your needs best.

I am still learning the ins and outs of this program, but so far I have not been disappointed. For the price, it has a surprising number of sophisticated features and the interface is quite easy to learn, although after using Pinnacle Studio 12 which I still use alongside PowerDirector 9 , it does appear much more cluttered, and items on the timeline are smaller. There are very few problems – just niggles really – for instance when you add a transition this affects the length of the video track, so if you’ve already added a sound track this can quickly get out of sync.

The features are generally highly customisable and with a bit of practice you’ll soon be producing quite acceptable, if not outstanding, work. It works as well for photo slideshows as for video, or a combination of both. It is easy to upload your projects to Youtube from within the program. There is a first-class website associated with the application, known as DirectorZone, where you can also upload your productions.

You can opt to have the whole timeline uploaded as well, so that others on DirectorZone can see what effects etc. You do need quite a powerful computer to run this, or any video editing software worth its salt; you need a big hard drive because the video files can be extremely large. Look at the requirements carefully before purchasing, to make sure your computer is up to the job. For what it is, I think this software is incredibly reasonably priced; it’s powerful, pretty user-friendly at least, I’ve found it so, having had some previous video editing experience and fun.

Highly recommended. If you want to create good video clips to for example YouTube, and you have a PC then this program really good at it. You have the ability to put multiple tracks together, you can adjust audio levels, you can easily cut from your recordings. The only negative is that you can not use it on a MAC! The program is far superior to standard iMovie, but is probably something less than the professional mac video editor.

I miss it on my mac. A brilliant product especially so after the last update that Cyberlink issued which corrected various glitches. I much enjoy using the sofware in composing many personal video stories. This product was recommended in a magazine survey. It did what I wanted it to do but I found it complicated to use. The product reached me in excellent condition and i was very pleased with it,it was a while ago now but yes i was very pleased.
